Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing the financial operations of logistics, transportation, and supply chain processes. They are responsible for accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, vendor payments, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles related to shipping and warehousing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Maintain accurate records of transportation, warehousing, and logistics expenses.

• Reconcile accounts related to shipping, customs, and other logistics services.

Cost Control and Analysis:

• Analyze freight, warehousing, and customs costs to identify optimization opportunities.

• Prepare reports on delivery costs, variances, and budget adherence.

Invoicing and Payment Processing:

• Verify and process vendor invoices for transportation and logistics services.

• Ensure timely payment to vendors and resolve payment discrepancies.

Taxation and Compliance:

• Manage GST, customs duties, and other tax-related documentation.

• Ensure compliance with government regulations for logistics operations.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in budgeting logistics operations and cost forecasting.

• Provide management with insights on financial performance.

Audit and Documentation:

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for internal and external audits.

• Ensure financial accuracy in contracts, SLAs, and vendor agreements.

Collaboration:

• Coordinate with operations, procurement, and logistics teams for financial clarity.

• Liaise with external auditors, freight forwarders, and customs agents as needed.

• Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience in logistics or supply chain accounting

• Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally, SAP, or other ERP systems)

• Familiarity with GST, import/export regulations, and customs documentation

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools

• Attention to detail and accuracy

Experience: 3-5 years of Courier & Logistics company only
