The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards of all kitchen areas, cooking utensils, dishware, and equipment. The role supports chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring a safe, clean, and organized workspace, enabling smooth kitchen operations.
Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, worktables, and equipment.
Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with sanitation standards.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed.
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
Follow all safety and hygiene policies, including HACCP guidelines.
Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations and buffet setups.
