Job Title: Area Sales Manager (ASM) - Consumer Electronics & Appliances
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / Zonal Sales Head - North India
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Area Sales Manager with a strong background in the Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and accelerating sales growth for our range of [mention specific product categories, e.g., Coolers, Refrigerators, Televisions (LED/Smart TVs), Batteries, Washing Machines, Air Conditioners, etc.] across the entire Uttar Pradesh region, with a primary focus on the Lucknow and surrounding areas. This role demands deep market understanding, robust channel management capabilities, and proven leadership to drive market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Planning & Execution (Electronics Focus):
Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans and strategies specifically for our consumer electronics and home appliance product lines within the Uttar Pradesh market.
Set ambitious but achievable primary and secondary sales targets for product categories like Coolers, Refrigerators, Batteries, TVs, Smart TVs, etc., for the entire area.
Analyze sales trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities within the electronics retail landscape in UP to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
Design and implement effective promotional schemes, trade offers, and merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales at the retail level.
Accurately forecast sales volumes for each product category (coolers, TVs, refrigerators, etc.) and provide regular, detailed reports to senior management.
Channel Development & Management (Electronics & Appliances):
Identify, onboard, and develop a strong, high-performing network of distributors, multi-brand outlets (MBOs), exclusive brand stores, large format retail (LFR) chains, and wholesale partners relevant to the consumer electronics and home appliance segments across Uttar Pradesh.
Nurture existing relationships with key channel partners, ensuring mutual growth and addressing their operational needs promptly.
Monitor and manage channel partner inventory levels for all electronic products, ensuring optimal stock rotation and minimizing dead stock.
Drive expansion into new territories or channels within UP where our electronic products have growth potential.
Ensure compliance with company policies and trade practices across the distribution network.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of Sales Executives/Sales Officers responsible for electronic product sales in various districts of UP.
Conduct regular field visits with the team to provide on-the-job training, assess market conditions, and ensure execution excellence at the point of sale.
Set clear performance objectives, conduct performance reviews, and implement development plans for individual team members focusing on their electronics product knowledge and sales skills.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving sales targets and market leadership in consumer electronics.
Market Intelligence & Business Development:
Gather real-time market intelligence on competitor pricing, new product launches, marketing strategies, and consumer buying preferences specifically for coolers, refrigerators, TVs, batteries, and other relevant appliances in Uttar Pradesh.
Identify opportunities for new product introductions or adaptations based on regional market demand for electronic goods.
Participate in regional trade fairs, dealer meets, and industry events to enhance brand presence and identify new business avenues.
Provide valuable insights to the marketing team for localized campaigns and product positioning.
Customer Relationship & Service Coordination:
Build strong relationships with key retailers and major multi-brand stores, ensuring our products receive preferential display and push.
Address and resolve trade and customer issues related to product availability, quality, or service promptly and efficiently.
Liaise with the service team to ensure efficient after-sales support for electronic products, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
Reporting & Compliance:
Maintain accurate sales records, submit timely reports on sales performance, market activities, expenses, and competitor intelligence.
Manage the area's sales budget effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of resources for maximum ROI.
Ensure strict adherence to company policies, ethical sales practices, and relevant statutory regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 6-10 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 3-5 years specifically in a sales management or Area Sales Manager role.
Mandatory and extensive background experience within the Consumer Electronics, Home Appliances, or related Electrical Goods industry. This must include direct experience with products such as Coolers, Refrigerators, Televisions (LED/Smart TVs), Batteries, Washing Machines, Air Conditioners, Small Domestic Appliances, etc.
Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding ambitious sales targets in a competitive electronics market.
Demonstrated expertise in managing large distribution and retail networks (GT, MT, Exclusive Stores) for electronic products.
Strong working knowledge of the Uttar Pradesh market, especially Lucknow, including local trade practices, consumer behavior, and geographical nuances.

Outstanding Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English and Hindi. Knowledge of local dialects of UP is a significant advantage.
Negotiation & Persuasion: Highly skilled in negotiation, objection handling, and closing deals with diverse stakeholders.
Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with distributors, retailers, and team members.
Proactive & Results-Oriented: A self-starter with a strong drive for achievement and a hands-on approach to market execution.
Tech Proficiency: Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM), MS Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis), and other sales reporting tools.
Extensive Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned area of Uttar Pradesh as required.
