The Sourcing Officer will be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and hiring qualified crew members for various shipping vessels. The role involves managing the full recruitment cycle, maintaining a strong crew database, coordinating with manning agencies, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.
Identify and source qualified seafarers for various vessel types (Main Fleet, Offshore, Coastal, etc.).
Collaborate with manning agencies and recruitment partners to fulfill crewing requirements.
Conduct screening, interview coordination, document verification, and selection of crew members.
Maintain and update the crew database, certificates, and employment records.
Ensure timely crew deployment and relieve planning as per vessel schedules.
Monitor expiring documents and schedule training or renewal as required.
Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC, and flag state requirements.
Support in negotiating contracts, salaries, and benefits for crew members.
Coordinate medical, visa, and travel arrangements for joining and sign-off crew.
Assist in audits and ensure readiness of crewing documentation.
Work closely with operations and fleet teams to understand upcoming crew needs.
Strong understanding of maritime recruitment and crewing procedures.
Familiarity with international maritime laws and crewing certifications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using crewing software and MS Office tools.
Ability to manage multiple hiring deadlines under pressure.
2–3 years of experience in sourcing/recruiting crew for shipping companies.
