The CNC and VMC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and Vertical Machining Center (VMC) machines to ensure high productivity, quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The supervisor manages a team of machine operators and programmers, schedules production runs, monitors machine performance, and ensures preventive maintenance is performed as required.
Supervise daily operations of CNC and VMC machines in the production area.
Allocate work to machine operators and monitor their performance and productivity.
Ensure that parts are machined as per specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and provide technical guidance.
Verify machine setups and first-piece inspections before full production runs.
Monitor tool life and coordinate tool replacements and adjustments.
Review production schedules and prioritize jobs to meet delivery deadlines.
Implement and monitor safety procedures and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Coordinate with the Quality Control department to resolve quality issues.
Maintain logs, production reports, and downtime analysis.
Conduct regular team meetings and operator training to enhance technical skills.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for CNC and VMC machines.
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in CNC/VMC machine operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of G-code programming, tooling, and machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Experience with different CNC/VMC machines and controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas).
Proficient in quality measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, etc.).
