Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement scheduled maintenance plans for all machinery and equipment, including routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments, to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of assets.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
Machine Shop Operations:
May be involved in the operation, maintenance, and repair of machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc. This could involve tasks like setting up machines, fabricating replacement parts, or performing tool changes.
Heavy Machine Handling:
May require experience with the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, such as forklifts, cranes, or construction equipment, which may involve specialized knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and diesel engines.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in accordance with relevant safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space entry protocols, and the use of personal protective equipment.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and other materials necessary for maintenance operations, and manage the ordering and receiving of supplies.
Team Management:
May be responsible for supervising and training maintenance technicians, delegating tasks, and ensuring work is completed effectively and efficiently.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, parts usage, and equipment performance data. Prepare reports on maintenance activities and performance metrics.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, such as production, engineering, and purchasing, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
