Senior Lab Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Lab Civil Engineer with 2-3 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in conducting laboratory tests, analyzing materials, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for construction projects. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Testing: Conduct laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt to determine their suitability and compliance with project specifications.

• Quality Control: Monitor and ensure the quality of construction materials and processes, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports to support project planning and execution.

• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable testing.

• Compliance: Ensure all tests and procedures comply with local, national, and international standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO).

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of test results, certifications, and related documentation.

• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and clients to provide technical insights and resolve issues.

• Training & Supervision: Guide junior lab technicians and engineers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

• Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a civil engineering laboratory setting.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory testing methods, standards, and equipment operation.

• Software Knowledge: Familiarity with engineering and data analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Excel, or specialized testing software).

• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in material testing and quality assurance.

• Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications in material testing or quality control are an advantage.
