Computer Operator

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control electronic computer and peripheral electronic data processing equipment.

• Perform data entry and ensure data accuracy.

• Run system backups, batch jobs, and perform routine maintenance checks.

• Maintain logs and records of system performance, errors, and downtimes.

• Troubleshoot and escalate system malfunctions or errors to IT support.

• Prepare reports, documentation, and data summaries as required.

• Assist users with basic hardware and software troubleshooting.

• Ensure the security of data and adherence to company IT policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred).

• Proven experience as a computer operator, data entry operator, or similar role.

• Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).

• Basic knowledge of networking and computer hardware.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with database systems or ERP software.

• Ability to script or automate routine tasks (e.g., using batch files or PowerShell).

• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
