We are seeking a highly skilled Fashion Merchandiser with a specialization in ethnic wear to oversee end-to-end production processes. This role requires deep knowledge of ethnic fabrics, trends, and traditional techniques, with the ability to manage both out-house production and external vendor or fabricators operations seamlessly.
Fabric Selection & Sourcing
Research and curate high-quality ethnic fabrics aligned with seasonal collections
Collaborate with designers and suppliers to source cost-effective, authentic materials
Production Management (In-House)
Coordinate design finalization, sampling, and bulk production timelines
Ensure quality checks at every stage from cutting to finishing
Work closely with tailors, artisans, and production teams
Vendor & Outsourced Operations
Identify and manage third-party manufacturing units
Schedule production calendars and ensure timely deliveries
Maintain consistency in quality standards across all vendors
Inventory & Merchandising
Assist in inventory planning and SKU development
Provide inputs on pricing, packaging, and product positioning
Trend Analysis & Market Intelligence
Stay updated on traditional and contemporary ethnic trends
Recommend new styles and innovations based on consumer preferences
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Design, or related field
3+ years of experience in ethnic wear merchandising and production
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Deep understanding of Indian textiles, embroidery styles, and garment construction
Creative freedom and exposure to high-end ethnic collections
