Responsibilities:

Processing Transactions:
Operate cash registers, scanners, and other electronic equipment to process sales transactions accurately.
Handle cash, credit, debit card, UPI, and other forms of payment.
Ensure the correct amount is received and provide accurate change.
Issue receipts, refunds, and exchanges according to company policy.
Process coupons, discounts, and loyalty program transactions.
Customer Service:
Greet customers warmly and professionally.
Answer customer inquiries regarding prices, products, and store policies.
Assist customers with wrapping or bagging their purchases.
Handle customer complaints or escalate them to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain a positive and helpful attitude.
Cash Handling and Reconciliation:
Maintain and balance the cash drawer throughout the shift.
Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile cash with sales records.
Ensure the security of cash and other valuables.
Report any discrepancies or issues to the supervisor.
Store Operations:
Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Assist with stocking shelves and arranging displays near the checkout as needed.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Assist other team members as required.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
Basic math skills and the ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced1 environment.  

Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems.
Preferred Skills:

Experience in a retail environment, preferably in the jewellery or luxury goods sector.
Knowledge of different payment methods and procedures.
Ability to handle customer complaints effectively.
Fluency in local languages.
