Purchase Executive

Job Title: Purchase Executive – Building, Construction & Electrical

Department: Procurement / Purchase

Location: Gurugram

Job Purpose:

To ensure timely procurement of quality materials, tools, and equipment required for building and construction projects at the best possible prices, in alignment with company policies and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Material Procurement:

   • Identify and source construction-related materials such as cement, steel, bricks, aggregates, tiles, plumbing, and electrical items.

   • Prepare and process purchase orders based on material requisitions.

2. Vendor Management:

   • Identify reliable vendors and suppliers.

   • Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate rates and payment terms.

   • Maintain a healthy relationship with existing vendors.

3. Inventory Coordination:

   • Coordinate with storekeepers to check stock levels before placing new orders.

   • Ensure materials are delivered on time to avoid project delays.

4. Documentation:

   • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and other documentation.

   • Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.

5. Cost Control:

   • Monitor and control purchase costs in line with budgetary limits.

   • Assist in minimizing wastage and optimizing resource usage.

6. Quality Assurance:

   • Ensure that the materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.

   • Coordinate with the Quality Engineer or Site Engineer for material inspection.

7. Coordination with Teams:

   • Work closely with the site engineers, project managers, and accounts department.

   • Follow up with suppliers and transporters for delivery schedules.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of construction materials and suppliers.

• Negotiation and communication skills.

• Time management and organizational ability.

• Knowledge of procurement software or ERP (preferred).

• Basic understanding of GST, invoices, and taxes.

Qualifications:

• Graduate in any stream (B.Com / BBA)

• Diploma or Certification in Supply Chain / Procurement is a plus.

• 1-4 years of experience in procurement for construction projects.
