Job Title: Quality Executive – GI Plant
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports To: Quality Manager
Core-Competency: Basic knowledge of: Steel (GI, HR, CR, HDGI) and aluminum grades, Fabricated components like rails, clamps, brackets, fasteners, Importance of zinc coating (µm), paint thickness, and rust resistance in solar structures, Hands-on use of: Vernier caliper, micrometer, thread gauge, Angle protractor, height gauge, surface plate, Accurately checks hole alignment, slot sizes, weld quality, and bends on fabricated parts.
Conducts: Raw material inspection (steel coils, flats, pipes, fasteners), In-process checks during punching, bending, welding, and galvanizing, Documents Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and flags rejections to purchase/production, Checks for: Burrs, sharp edges, cracks, paint peel-off, Weld finish, powder coating quality, and surface defects, Verifies compliance with technical drawings and tolerances.
Maintains: Inspection reports, material traceability records, Test certificates (MTCs), quality checklists, and sample approval sheets, Assists in ISO documentation or internal or external audits without failure, Understands: 2D fabrication drawings, Tolerances, dimensions, hole patterns, welding symbols, Cross-checks part output with customer or internal specs,
Deep understanding of IS 2062, IS 4759, IS 2629, IS 2102, IS 919 and others; Works closely with: Production to give real-time feedback and avoid repeat defects, Purchase to hold or reject faulty incoming materials, Understands RCA and supports in CAPA, Packing lists, part counts, bundling quality, and labeling before dispatch, Ensures proper handling to avoid transit damage
