Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain ocean freight rate sheets (FCL/LCL), including origin and destination
charges, surcharges, drayage, demurrage, detention, etc., for both internal and external quoting
• Handle pricing inquiries promptly (, create competitive quotations, and support bid/tender
responses
• Negotiate freight rates, free credit periods, and commercial terms with Steam Ship Lines (SSL),
NVOCCs, consolidators, and carriers
• Analyze market trends, competitor rates, and trade‐lane pricing to optimize margin strategies
• Maintain and update internal pricing database and quoting system; create and distribute
analytical reports (bid wins/losses, price trends, margin analysis) for sales and senior leadership
• Coordinate with sales, operations, finance, commercial and other functions to align pricing
strategy with broader corporate objectives
• Assist in service contract negotiations and participate in pricing strategy planning for key
accounts
• Continuously develop relationships with carriers, consolidators, overseas counterparts, customs
brokers, and logistics partners
• Support process improvements and tool development to enhance pricing efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
• Experience: 2- 3 years in ocean freight pricing, logistics, or freight forwarding roles;
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field.
MBA or postgraduate qualification is often a plus .
• Skills: Strong analytical ability, advanced Excel skills, financial modeling and pricing sensitivity,
market research capability; familiarity with pricing or forwarding systems
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written English, ability to collaborate across teams and
escalate issues as needed
