Key Responsibilities:
1. Packing Operations
· Supervise day-to-day packing activities of exotic vegetables (leafy greens, herbs, premium vegetables, etc.).
· Ensure accurate weighing, grading, labeling, and packaging as per company and customer specifications.
· Monitor freshness, hygiene, and quality standards during the packing process.
· Minimize wastage and handle products carefully to maintain shelf life.
2. Quality Control & Compliance
· Implement and maintain food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP/ISO/FSSAI compliance).
· Conduct regular quality checks for packaging material and finished products.
· Ensure cold chain management and correct storage conditions are maintained.
3. Team Supervision & Training
· Manage, allocate, and monitor packers’ daily tasks.
· Train packing staff on handling exotic vegetables, hygiene, and packing techniques.
· Monitor employee discipline, attendance, and performance.
4. Coordination & Reporting
· Coordinate with procurement, cold storage, logistics, and sales teams to meet daily dispatch schedules.
· Maintain records of packing materials, stock utilization, and daily output.
· Report operational issues, manpower needs, and process improvements to management.
5. Safety & Efficiency
· Ensure safe handling of vegetables, equipment, and packaging tools.
· Improve packing line efficiency and reduce delays in dispatch.
· Control costs of materials and manpower by optimizing resources.
Key Skills & Competencies:
· Knowledge of exotic vegetables and their handling requirements.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality control practices.
· Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure.
· Basic computer skills (MS Excel/ERP for reports).
· Time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
· Graduate/Diploma in Agriculture, Food Technology, Supply Chain, or related field.
· 3–5 years of experience in packing/production supervision (preferably in fresh produce, fruits, or vegetables industry).
· Experience in exotic vegetable/ perishable goods handling will be an added advantage.
