The Steward is responsible for providing courteous and efficient service to guests, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in service areas, and supporting the restaurant team in daily operations. This role ensures smooth dining experiences through attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to service standards.
1. Guest Service:
Welcome guests courteously and assist them with seating arrangements.
Present menus, take food and beverage orders accurately, and serve as per sequence of service.
Ensure guest satisfaction by attending to requests promptly and professionally.
Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely service.
2. Table Setup & Maintenance:
Prepare tables with linens, cutlery, crockery, and glassware before service hours.
Maintain table settings and ensure cleanliness throughout the shift.
Clear tables promptly after each course and reset for the next guests.
Ensure the dining area, side stations, and service counters are neat and organized.
3. Hygiene & Safety:
Follow hygiene standards as per FSSAI and company guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness of service equipment, glassware, and cutlery.
Handle food and beverages safely and professionally.
Report any breakages, spills, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
4. Team Support:
Assist the Captain and other team members during busy service hours.
Support kitchen staff in carrying food trays, replenishing buffet counters, or refilling service stations.
Attend daily briefings and follow instructions for smooth operations.
5. Knowledge & Professionalism:
Stay informed about menu items, ingredients, and daily specials.
Maintain grooming standards and professional body language.
Uphold restaurant policies, service etiquette, and brand values.
