The Restaurant Captain will be responsible for supervising the service team, ensuring excellent guest experience, and maintaining smooth day-to-day restaurant operations. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to train and motivate staff while upholding service standards.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of restaurant staff to deliver high-quality service.
Greet and interact with guests, ensuring satisfaction and handling any concerns promptly.
Assign tables, monitor seating arrangements, and manage reservations for efficient flow.
Guide and train service staff on menu knowledge, upselling techniques, and service etiquette.
Conduct pre-shift briefings to update staff on menu changes, specials, and service priorities.
Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and proper setup of dining areas.
Monitor order accuracy and timely delivery of food & beverages.
Support the Restaurant Manager in inventory control and requisition of supplies.
Handle billing issues, cash transactions, and maintain service records.
Maintain a positive and professional work environment to motivate the team.
Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain / Head Waiter / Senior Steward.
Strong knowledge of food & beverage service standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
Problem-solving and customer-handling skills.
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent preferred.
