Job Summary

The Video Editor is responsible for assembling recorded footage into polished, engaging, and visually compelling content suitable for news broadcasts, social media, and digital platforms. This role requires creativity, technical expertise, attention to detail, and a strong sense of storytelling to support the editorial team and enhance the company’s digital outreach.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit raw footage into finalized videos adhering to the company’s standards for style, pace, and accuracy.

• Select, trim, and sequence clips, add transitions, effects, music, graphics, subtitles, and other elements as needed.

• Collaborate closely with producers, reporters, anchors, and content teams to meet editorial guidelines and deadlines.

• Integrate sound, visual effects, and motion graphics for enhanced storytelling.

• Format video content for various platforms including TV, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and the website.

• Maintain a logical system for organizing and archiving video files.

• Stay updated on latest editing software, digital techniques, and industry trends.

• Ensure all published content adheres to copyright and legal regulations.

• Make quick edits to breaking news stories and deliver timely content.

• Provide creative input, propose concepts and ideas for special video features.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Film Studies, Media, or related field (preferred).

• Proven experience as a Video Editor, ideally in a news, media, or digital content environment.

• Proficiency in video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or equivalent.

• Strong sense of visual storytelling, pacing, and digital content trends.

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

• Knowledge of codecs, file formats, and relevant technical concepts.

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Strong communication skills and team spirit.

• Creativity, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
