Job Description – Safety Officer
We are currently seeking a motivated and competent safety officer to join our team. The
ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and overseeing safety protocols to
ensure a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and ensure implementation of safe work practices during fabrication,
welding, cutting, grinding and tank erection.
• Conduct induction training, Daily TBT and refresher training sessions.
• Issue and monitor Hot work, confined space Entry, Height work Permit.
• Co-ordinate with Engineers and supervisors for job specific risk assessment.
• Develop, implement and maintain strategies, plans and procedures to protect
employees, property and facilities from workplace health and safety hazards.
• Assess workplace hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to
mitigate them.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure
compliance with established safety protocols.
• Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe practices.
• Prepare incident investigation report determine root causes and implement
corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers.
• Preparation of daily/weekly/monthly HSE report
• Conduct mock drills and ensure emergency procedures are displayed and known.
• Maintain safety records, inspection checklist, PTW logs, training records and audits.
• Participate in internal and external safety audit
• Report to Client as per their requirement.
Key Skills and Competencies:
• Good Knowledge of Fabrication process and related hazards.
• Proficiencies in Risk Assessment /JSA.
• Strong communication and people handling skills.
• Ability to enforce discipline tactfully
• Computer skills (MS Word/Excel: incident reporting system)
Required skills and qualifications
• Diploma /Degree in Engineering/B.sc + Safety Certification (Diploma in fire and
safety, ADIS, PDIS).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a safety-related role in Engineering Industry.
• Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.
• Well-versed in creating emergency response plans tailored to various scenarios.
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices.
• Expertise in using and maintaining safety equipment like fire extinguishers, eye
protection and hazardous material protection.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with
employees at all levels.
• Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocols.
• Knowledge of Indian safety laws and regulations applicable to the industry.
• A valid driving licence and knowledge of first-aid techniques.
