To operate and maintain the boiler system efficiently by monitoring parameters from the control panel and performing field activities, ensuring safe, smooth, and continuous operation in compliance with statutory and company safety standards.
Panel Operation:
Monitor and control boiler operations through SCADA/DCS or local control panels.
Maintain operating parameters like pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel input.
Log critical data on an hourly basis and report abnormalities to the Shift Incharge.
Start-up and shut-down boilers as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Conduct routine inspections of field equipment (boiler, feedwater pumps, valves, pipelines, etc.).
Ensure proper functioning of auxiliary systems like fuel handling, ash handling, and water treatment.
Carry out minor maintenance and support maintenance team during breakdowns.
Check for leakages, unusual vibrations, and abnormal sounds.
Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Conduct safety checks and support in fire drills and safety audits.
Maintain compliance with boiler regulations and pollution control norms.
Immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents to supervisors.
Skills:
Good understanding of boiler systems and instrumentation.
Basic troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read technical manuals and P&ID drawings.
