ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Jai Vakeel Foundation is a 79 year old organization and is the oldest and largest non-profit serving children with Intellectual Disabilities. We cater to over 3000 individuals annually, across varying age groups and varying levels of intellectual and other associated disabilities such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and visual or hearing impairment.
Job Role : Disha Coordinator (Special Educators)
The primary district will serve as the main hub, while neighboring districts will function as supplementary areas.
Location : Nashik (Ahmednagar ), and Jalgaon/Dhule
About Project Disha is an initiative by Jai Vakeel Foundation and Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of Maharashtra. The project is undertaken with the intent of building and disseminating a uniform curriculum and assessment technique to schools for children with Intellectual and providing Training for implementation of the Curriculum across all 36 districts in Maharashtra.
In charge of implementation of Disha curriculum in all Special ID Schools in the assigned districts.
Effective monitoring and evaluation of the program by visiting all Special ID Schools in his/her assigned districts.
Liaison with key implementing stakeholders- District Social Welfare Officers, School Principals, other Disha coordinators for smooth operations.
Ensuring quick action on any problem arising on the field and ensuring escalation of issues wherever required.
Coordinate dissemination of training and planned activities of assigned schools at assigned districts.
Reporting progress of the program to the State Coordinator and Project Head
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Special Educators (B.Ed/ M.Ed in Mental Retardation)/ Psychologist
2-4 years of Work experience
Good communication skills Can speak, read, write- Marathi and English
Open to travel
Adaptable to taking on more work tasks as and when required Good computer skills and knowledge
