Job Title: Social Teacher

Reporting To: Head – Education / School Coordinator
The Social Teacher at Sevalaya will be responsible for teaching Social Science subjects (History, Geography, Civics, Economics) to students from underserved communities. The teacher will also work to instill values, encourage critical thinking, and support holistic development, aligned with Sevalaya’s mission of providing quality education to all.
Teach Social Science subjects according to the prescribed curriculum for relevant grade levels.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments.
Conduct interactive and engaging classroom sessions that promote active learning.
Maintain student records, attendance, and academic progress reports.
Use creative teaching methods—visual aids, field visits, group discussions, and activities.
Mentor students on social values, citizenship, leadership, and community awareness.
Identify learning gaps and provide remedial classes where necessary.
Encourage participation in debates, exhibitions, projects, and cultural programs.
Provide emotional and academic support to students from vulnerable backgrounds.
Promote Sevalaya’s core values—character-building, self-reliance, and community service.
Conduct awareness sessions on social issues (hygiene, environment, gender equality, rights, etc.).
Engage parents and community members to foster a supportive learning environment.
Assist in organizing school events, workshops, excursions, and celebrations.
Maintain discipline and ensure the safety and well-being of students.
Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and capacity-building workshops.
Support data collection, documentation, and reporting as required by management.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, or related field.
Candidate must have completed B.Ed
Minimum 1 year of experience into Teaching
Freshers passionate about social development may also apply.
Strong subject knowledge in Social Sciences.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to handle students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Basic computer skills (MS Office, digital teaching tools).
