Sevalaya is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education, healthcare, and social support to underprivileged communities. The organization runs free schools for rural and underserved children, aiming to empower them through holistic, value-based education.
To teach Mathematics effectively to students, fostering conceptual understanding, problem-solving ability, and a positive attitude towards learning. The teacher is expected to contribute to the overall growth and well-being of students while supporting Sevalaya’s mission of accessible and quality education for all.
Deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the school curriculum (State Board/CBSE as applicable).
Explain concepts clearly using activity-based, practical, and child-friendly teaching methods.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments.
Conduct regular class tests, unit tests, and examinations and maintain records of student performance.
Provide additional support to slow learners through remedial classes.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
Encourage logical thinking, problem-solving, and real-life application of mathematical concepts.
Track the academic and personal progress of students and provide feedback.
Maintain student attendance, academic records, and documentation as required by the school.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and parent-teacher meetings.
Assist in organizing school activities, events, and academic initiatives.
Promote Sevalaya’s core values such as discipline, compassion, honesty, and social responsibility.
Engage with parents, volunteers, and community stakeholders wherever needed.
Must have completed B.Sc Mathematics or M.Sc Mathematics
Must have completed B.Ed
Must have minimum 1 year of experience into Teaching
Strong understanding of school-level Mathematics concepts.
Passion for teaching children from underserved backgrounds.
Good communication skills in Tamil/English (as applicable).
