Job Title: Librarian

Job Summary

We are looking for an organized, resourceful, and student-friendly Librarian to manage our school’s library and promote a love for reading and learning. The role involves maintaining library resources, assisting students and staff in accessing information, and creating a welcoming environment for study and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize, catalog, and maintain books, periodicals, and digital resources.

• Assist students and staff in locating and using library materials effectively.

• Promote reading habits through book clubs, reading challenges, and library activities.

• Keep library records updated, including issue and return logs.

• Ensure the library is well-organized, quiet, and conducive to learning.

• Recommend new books and resources for purchase based on user needs.

• Maintain and operate library management systems/software.

• Educate students about library rules, catalog systems, and research skills.

• Plan and organize literary events such as author visits, storytelling sessions, and exhibitions.

• Ensure proper care and repair of library books and equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

• Experience in managing a library, preferably in an educational setting.

• Familiarity with library catalog systems and digital databases.

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Passion for books, learning resources, and encouraging reading culture.
