We are looking for an experienced Credit Manager – Personal Loan to join our fintech lending team. The role involves end-to-end underwriting of personal loan applications, assessing customer creditworthiness, and maintaining high-quality portfolio standards. The ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of PL underwriting, strong analytical ability, and risk management expertise in the digital lending ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personal Loan Underwriting

• Evaluate personal loan applications as per company credit policies and PL-specific guidelines.

• Analyse income stability, repayment capacity, and customer risk profile using bank statements, bureau scores, salary proofs, and digital data points.

• Review KYC documents, employment details, and customer verification inputs.

• Make accurate approve/decline decisions within defined TAT.

• Assess financial behaviour through bank statement analysers, cash flow checks, and digital footprints.

2. Credit Risk & Portfolio Management

• Monitor delinquency trends and identify high-risk segments within PL portfolios.

• Coordinate with collection teams for early-stage risk control and minimizing NPAs.

• Recommend policy improvements and risk score adjustments based on market trends.

• Ensure personal loan underwriting aligns with internal and RBI compliance norms.

3. Verification & Compliance

• Ensure proper KYC verification including Aadhaar, PAN, address, employment proof, and income validation.

• Validate customer profile using credit bureaus (CIBIL/CRIF/Experian) and digital verifications.

• Maintain documentation and support internal/external audits.

• Ensure all PL underwriting processes comply with digital lending guidelines.

4. Cross-Department Collaboration

• Coordinate with sales, operations, and tele-calling teams for smooth loan disbursements.

• Train teams on PL credit policies, eligibility criteria, and documentation standards.

• Partner with product and tech teams to improve credit models and decision-making systems.

5. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare MIS reports on approval ratios, rejection reasons, risk exposure, and personal loan portfolio quality.

• Track key KPIs such as DPD movement, bounce rate, approval TAT, and portfolio health.

• Provide daily/weekly insights to senior management for strategic planning.

Skills & Requirements

• Graduation/Post-graduation in Finance, Commerce, or related field.

• 1-2 Years of experience in Personal Loan underwriting (Fintech/NBFC preferred).

• Strong understanding of PL credit policies, bureau analysis, and risk parameters.

• Proficiency in bank statement analysis, financial verification tools, and underwriting software.

• Excellent analytical skills, decision-making ability, and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• Ability to manage high application volumes and tight deadlines.
