The Business Development Executive (BDE) will drive business growth through a mix of direct, tele, web-based, and social media marketing strategies, primarily targeting domestic clients. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders such as authors, reviewers, editors, subscribers, and institutional clients. The BDE will collaborate with internal teams to execute marketing campaigns, manage databases, and ensure effective distribution of both digital and print marketing materials.
Business Development & Client Relations
Execute delegated direct, tele, and web-based marketing campaigns targeting domestic clients.
Build and maintain positive relationships with authors, reviewers, editors, subscribers, booksellers, and institutional clients.
Coordinate with both domestic and international vendors, subscribers, and buyers of journals, books, and reports.
Support sales and customer service teams to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
Marketing Strategy & Execution
Collaborate with Publication Research Executives and Publication Coordinators to develop and implement effective marketing plans.
Manage and maintain databases for clients, vendors, and stakeholders to streamline communications and marketing efforts.
Organize, oversee, and distribute marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, and digital assets.
Conduct market research, assess brand awareness, analyze customer demands, and provide insights for marketing strategies.
Monitor monthly and yearly sales figures to track performance and identify potential issues or opportunities.
Social Media Marketing & Digital Engagement
Develop, implement, and manage social media campaigns across platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X (Twitter) to promote journals, publications, and events.
Create engaging content including posts, graphics, videos, and newsletters to drive audience engagement and brand awareness.
Monitor social media metrics, analyze campaign performance, and optimize strategies for better reach and conversion.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate social media campaigns with broader marketing initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
Support any additional marketing, sales, or business development activities as required by the Director.
Stay updated with the latest trends in digital marketing, social media, and academic publishing.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
Prior experience in business development, marketing, or social media management preferred.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
