Primary Objective
Manage and control inventory of raw materials, packaging supplies, and kitchen essentials to ensure uninterrupted production while minimizing wastage and supporting Food Whisperer's sustainability and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
· Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials (raw food items, disposables, packaging, cleaning supplies, etc.).
· Maintain accurate records of stock levels using inventory management software.
· Conduct daily stock audits and reconcile physical stock with system data.
Material Handling & Storage
· Ensure proper labeling, FIFO (First In, First Out), and temperature-controlled storage of perishable items.
· Organize and maintain a clean, hygienic, and well-ventilated store area.
· Track batch numbers, expiry dates, and vendor details to ensure food safety compliance.
Procurement Coordination
· Raise purchase requisitions based on minimum stock levels and kitchen production plans.
· Coordinate with procurement and kitchen teams to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
· Assist in receiving goods, verifying quality and quantity, and updating records.
Waste Control & Reporting
· Monitor near-expiry and slow-moving items to minimize waste.
· Segregate and report damaged or expired items for proper disposal or return.
· Submit daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports to management.
Sustainability & Hygiene Practices
· Follow eco-friendly packaging and storage standards in line with Food Whisperer’s sustainability goals.
· Eliminate single-use plastic in store operations and adopt reusable or compostable storage methods.
· Support waste segregation and composting initiatives related to inventory waste.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Educational Background
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Hotel Management, or related field.
Technical Skills
· Proficient in inventory/warehouse management systems (e.g., Zoho, ERP, Tally, SAP).
· Strong knowledge of MS Excel/Google Sheets for stock tracking and reporting.
· Familiarity with cold storage and perishable goods handling is a plus.
Soft Skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Effective communicator and team player with kitchen and procurement teams.
· Problem-solving ability in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
