The Retail Inventory Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining optimal inventory levels in the store. This role involves tracking stock movement, conducting physical stock counts, managing stock replenishment, and ensuring accuracy between physical and system inventory. The goal is to support smooth store operations by ensuring that products are always available and accounted for.
Maintain accurate inventory records in the store’s inventory management system (POS/ERP).
Monitor stock levels and generate reports for stock movement, discrepancies, and reorder requirements.
Conduct regular and surprise physical stock counts and reconcile with system records.
Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and sales teams for timely stock replenishment.
Identify slow-moving, fast-moving, and obsolete inventory and assist in planning stock rotation.
Report inventory shortages, damages, and thefts immediately to management.
Ensure proper labeling, shelving, and storage of merchandise in the stockroom and store floor.
Assist in inventory audits and support the finance team with monthly/quarterly reporting.
Work closely with the visual merchandising team to ensure optimal product display and stock availability.
Follow and enforce company policies related to inventory control and loss prevention.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in inventory management systems (POS/ERP) and MS Excel
Basic knowledge of retail operations and supply chain processes
Ability to analyze data and generate useful inventory insights
Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Physical ability to lift, move, and count merchandise
High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred)
1-3 years of experience in retail inventory management or a similar role
Experience with inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) preferred
On-site retail store environment
Requires physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
May require working during weekends, holidays, or extended hours during stocktaking or sales seasons
