Job Summary:
The Site Engineer – HVAC is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems at the project site. This role ensures that work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule, maintaining quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage HVAC installation works at site in coordination with subcontractors and other disciplines.
Interpret HVAC system design drawings and coordinate any discrepancies with design team or consultants.
Monitor site progress and ensure compliance with approved timelines and specifications.
Conduct inspections for HVAC systems including ducting, piping, insulation, and equipment installation.
Prepare and maintain site documentation including daily progress reports, inspection reports, and material tracking.
Ensure all HVAC systems are installed in line with local codes, international standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA), and safety regulations.
Participate in testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.
Liaise with the project team, consultants, and client representatives on technical matters.
Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
Oversee subcontractors and ensure proper workforce deployment and productivity.
Ensure compliance with site safety protocols and permit-to-work systems.
Assist in procurement planning and tracking of HVAC materials and equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of site-based experience in HVAC systems in construction or MEP projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC components: chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, ducts, piping, controls.
Familiarity with design codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, etc.).
Good command of AutoCAD, Revit (optional), and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle site challenges.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Effective communication and team coordination skills.
