The Compliance & Payroll Executive is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, maintaining statutory compliance, and supporting audits and documentation. The role involves handling employee data, statutory filings, and ensuring all HR & labor regulations are followed.
Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
Verify attendance, leaves, overtime, and deductions.
Maintain payroll records and salary registers.
Handle reimbursements, variable pay, incentives, and arrears.
Coordinate with finance for payroll approvals and disbursement.
Ensure compliance with all labor laws: PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, etc.
File monthly/quarterly/annual statutory returns (PF, ESI, PT).
Generate and submit challans, returns, and reports.
Keep track of changes in compliance laws and update internal processes.
Prepare and maintain employee statutory documents.
Support internal and external audits related to payroll & compliance.
Maintain records as per statutory requirements.
Address payroll, salary slip, tax, and compliance-related queries.
Guide employees on PF transfers, withdrawals, ESI benefits, and tax-related questions.
Maintain employee master data and HRIS updates.
Support onboarding and exit processes from a compliance perspective.
Prepare MIS reports: payroll reports, headcount, cost reports, etc.
Strong knowledge of PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act, Shops & Establishment Act.
Experience with payroll software (e.g., Zoho, GreytHR, Keka, SAP, etc.).
Good Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot, formulas).
Attention to detail & accuracy.
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Good communication and confidentiality handling.
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Commerce, or related field.
1–5 years experience in payroll and compliance (depending on role level).
Knowledge of HRMS/Payroll tools preferred.
