Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead with over 6 years of hands-on payroll experience to manage and oversee end-to-end payroll operations. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, statutory compliance, process improvements, and team leadership while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end payroll processing for monthly/bi-weekly payroll cycles.

• Ensure 100% accuracy and on-time payroll delivery for employees, including salary, bonuses, incentives, deductions, and reimbursements.

• Oversee statutory compliances such as PF, ESI, PT, TDS, labor laws, and other applicable regulations.

• Manage payroll audits, internal controls, and statutory inspections.

• Handle payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and reporting.

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams on payroll-related matters.

• Lead and mentor the payroll team; ensure skill development and performance management.

• Address employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

• Drive process improvements, automation, and compliance enhancements.

• Support year-end activities including Form 16, tax declarations, and audits.

• Maintain confidentiality and data security of payroll information.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).

• 6+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.

• Hands-on experience with payroll systems and HRMS tools.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience handling payroll for mid to large-sized organizations.

• Payroll or compliance certifications are a plus.
