Key Responsibilities for 2D Echo Technician:
Operating Equipment: Operates ultrasound equipment to acquire high-quality images of the heart.
Patient Preparation: Prepares patients for echocardiograms, explaining the procedure and ensuring comfort.
Image Acquisition: Performs 2D echocardiograms and Doppler imaging (Doppler imaging is used to assess blood flow within the heart).
Data Recording and Reporting: Documents findings, measurements, and prepares reports for review by cardiologists.
Initial Interpretation: May provide preliminary interpretations of echocardiograms, highlighting any abnormalities for the cardiologist.
Patient Education: Explains the procedure and results to patients in a clear and understandable manner.
Equipment Maintenance: Assists with the maintenance and calibration of echocardiography equipment.
Collaboration: Collaborates with cardiologists and other healthcare team members.
Safety and Hygiene: Follows safety protocols and infection control procedures.
