The ICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate, and critical nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires advanced clinical skills, critical thinking, and a strong ability to work in high-pressure environments. The ICU nurse collaborates with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
Monitor, assess, and document vital signs, neurological status, and other clinical indicators.
Administer medications, including IV drips, sedatives, and emergency drugs, as prescribed.
Operate and manage life-support equipment such as ventilators, defibrillators, and monitors.
Respond promptly to emergencies and assist with resuscitation and code blue situations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and patient safety standards.
Participate in ongoing education, training, and performance improvement activities.
Education:
Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State/Country].
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification is an advantage.
Experience:
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in ICU or critical care nursing preferred.
New graduates may be considered with strong clinical rotation experience and training.
