The Mechanical Designer is responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications for components, assemblies, and systems. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements, industry standards, and production capabilities.
Develop detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo).
Collaborate with mechanical engineers to translate concepts, sketches, and requirements into manufacturable designs.
Perform basic engineering calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, materials, and loads.
Prepare BOMs (Bills of Materials) and maintain accurate design records.
Review and update existing designs to improve performance, manufacturability, or cost efficiency.
Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
Work with manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to resolve design or production issues.
Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and incorporate revisions as required.
Support prototype fabrication and testing activities.
Maintain version control and manage documentation within PLM/PDM systems.
