Key Responsibilities

• Operate VMC machines as per daily production plan.

• Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces according to job requirements.

• Load/unload components and ensure proper clamping and alignment.

• Run CNC/VMC programs safely and efficiently as per instructions.

• Measure and inspect components using calipers, micrometers, height gauge, and other precision instruments.

• Maintain required machining accuracy and surface finish.

• Adjust offsets (tool & work offsets) to achieve correct dimensions.

• Perform routine machine checks and basic maintenance.

• Report any machining issues, tool breakage, or quality deviations to supervisor.

• Maintain 5S, safety, and cleanliness around the machine.

• Complete production reports, job cards, and inspection sheets.

Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of VMC operating procedures.

• Basic knowledge of G-code & M-code (able to edit minor offsets).

• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring instruments.

• Understanding of machining tools, speeds, and feeds.

• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma / Any technical certification in Machinist / Fitter / Mechanical.

• 1–3 years experience as VMC Operator (Fresher with good skills can be considered).

• Experience in machining, fabrication, or precision components preferred.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

• Production output vs. shift target.

• Dimensional accuracy & zero rework/rejection.

• Machine utilization & cycle time efficiency.

• Compliance with safety and 5S.
