Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Supervision:
Plan and execute daily production schedules for cutting, bending, welding, and assembly operations.
Ensure that production targets and quality requirements are achieved within the shift.
Allocate work to operators and technicians as per skill and machine availability.
Monitor machine performance and ensure maximum utilization of resources.
2. Quality & Process Control:
Ensure adherence to process parameters and product specifications.
Conduct in-process inspection and coordinate with the QA team for final inspection.
Identify process deviations and take corrective or preventive actions.
Support implementation of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Manpower Management:
Supervise shop floor operators, welders, fitters, and helpers.
Ensure discipline, punctuality, and safety compliance among shift personnel.
Provide on-the-job training and skill development support to team members.
4. Maintenance Coordination:
Report machine breakdowns immediately and coordinate with the maintenance team for quick rectification.
Maintain daily logs for downtime, maintenance activities, and root cause analysis.
Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out as per schedule.
5. Material & Resource Management:
Coordinate with stores for timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and tools.
Maintain minimal wastage and track material consumption per job or batch.
Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to avoid damage.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain shift production reports, rejection data, and machine utilization records.
Handover detailed shift reports to the next shift engineer.
Support in maintaining ISO or internal audit documentation.
7. Safety & Compliance:
Enforce safety procedures and ensure PPE compliance on the shop floor.
Conduct daily safety checks on machines and work areas.
Report any unsafe practices or incidents immediately to management.
