We are looking for an experienced Lab Incharge to lead and manage our Quality and Compliance laboratory operations. This role involves supervising a team of lab technicians, ensuring adherence to national and international standards (IS, UL, IEC, EN), supporting R&D trials for new products, and coordinating compliance activities during audits. The Lab Incharge will work closely with production, sales, and management to uphold Everest’s reputation for quality and reliability.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the quality and compliance laboratory.
- Supervise a team of technicians to ensure timely and accurate execution of testing tasks.
- Oversee execution and review of test reports (tensile, elongation, HV, flammability, ageing, etc.) as per IS, UL, and IEC standards.
- Maintain calibration schedules of testing equipment and ensure readiness of the lab at all times.
- Ensure compliance with IS, UL, IEC, and other relevant standards (IS 694, IS 1293, UL 62, UL 758, UL 2556, UL 2263, etc.).
- Prepare and maintain test logs, compliance records, calibration reports, and audit documentation.
- Support management and sales team during external audits (UL, BIS, TUV or Customer) with required records and technical inputs.
- Assist in new product development and material trials in coordination with production and management.
- Provide technical support to the sales team regarding product specifications and compliance requirements.
- Work with the production team to streamline quality processes and ensure smooth scale-up of new designs.
- Lead and mentor lab staff, ensuring adherence to quality protocols and safety practices.
- Conduct on-the-job training for junior lab staff and share knowledge on standards and compliance practices.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical or related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in cable testing, quality control, or compliance functions within the wire & cable industry.
- Strong understanding of national and international cable standards (IS, UL, IEC, EN).
- Proven track record of handling lab teams, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Hands-on experience with tensile, elongation, high-voltage, ageing, flammability, and related cable testing equipment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation habits.
- Ability to coordinate across departments (production, sales, management).
- Problem-solving mindset with a balance of technical and managerial skills.
