Core Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers for raw materials (like sheet metal, Angle , channel , beam ,fasteners, etc.), components, and equipment.
Negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Conducting supplier performance reviews and addressing any issues proactively.
Procurement and Inventory Management:
Placing purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and meeting production needs.
Managing inventory levels to minimize costs and avoid production bottlenecks.
Developing and implementing inventory management systems.
Technical Expertise:
Understanding the specific requirements for sheet metal fabrication, including material selection and quality standards.
Collaborating with design and production teams to ensure optimal material usage and reduce costs.
Troubleshooting any issues related to material sourcing, quality, or delivery.
Cost and Budget Management:
Analyzing costs, negotiating prices, and managing the procurement budget.
Identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
BTech/ Diploma in mechanical 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally in a manufacturing or sheet metal industry.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Knowledge of materials science and sheet metal fabrication processes.
Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
