Job Title: Purchase Executive – Building, Construction & Electrical

Job Purpose:
To ensure timely procurement of quality materials, tools, and equipment required for building and construction projects at the best possible prices, in alignment with company policies and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Procurement:
Identify and source construction-related materials such as cement, steel, bricks, aggregates, tiles, plumbing, and electrical items.
Prepare and process purchase orders based on material requisitions.
Vendor Management:
Identify reliable vendors and suppliers.
Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate rates and payment terms.
Maintain a healthy relationship with existing vendors.
Inventory Coordination:
Coordinate with storekeepers to check stock levels before placing new orders.
Ensure materials are delivered on time to avoid project delays.
Documentation:
Maintain records of purchases, pricing, invoices, and other documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control purchase costs in line with budgetary limits.
Assist in minimizing wastage and optimizing resource usage.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that the materials procured meet the required quality standards and specifications.
Coordinate with the Quality Engineer or Site Engineer for material inspection.
Coordination with Teams:
Work closely with the site engineers, project managers, and accounts department.
Follow up with suppliers and transporters for delivery schedules.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction materials and suppliers.
Negotiation and communication skills.
Time management and organizational ability.
Knowledge of procurement software or ERP (preferred).
Basic understanding of GST, invoices, and taxes.
Qualifications:
Graduate in any stream (B.Com / BBA)
Diploma or Certification in Supply Chain / Procurement is a plus.
1-4 years of experience in procurement for construction projects.
