The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing on-site activities during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. This role ensures that work is executed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards and engineering specifications.
Supervise daily installation and commissioning activities at the project site.
Coordinate tasks among technicians, electricians, subcontractors, and labor teams.
Ensure adherence to project plans, drawings, and technical specifications.
Ensure correct installation of solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, cabling, and other BOS (Balance of System) components.
Conduct on-site troubleshooting and resolve technical issues promptly.
Assist in testing, commissioning, and performance verification of the solar PV system.
Enforce safety protocols as per industry and company standards.
Conduct toolbox meetings, risk assessments, and ensure use of PPE.
Ensure compliance with local electrical regulations and quality standards.
Maintain day-to-day communication with the Project Manager regarding progress, delays, or issues.
Prepare daily/weekly site reports, including manpower, material utilization, work progress, and incidents.
Coordinate material delivery, equipment handling, and inventory management at the site.
Inspect workmanship at every stage to ensure it meets standards.
Ensure proper wiring, earthing, module alignment, and system configuration.
Conduct quality checks during installation and assist in final inspections.
Maintain site logs, installation checklists, testing reports, and handover documentation.
Ensure proper documentation of any changes, deviations, or site modifications.
