Position Title: Pharmacist

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and reviewing medications to ensure safe and effective use. The role involves counseling patients, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards to optimize patient care and therapeutic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications.

• Review prescriptions for accuracy, safety, drug interactions, and contraindications.

• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage.

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers for optimal treatment plans.

• Monitor patients’ medication therapies and suggest adjustments when necessary.

• Maintain patient medication records and ensure confidentiality.

• Oversee inventory management, storage, and procurement of medicines.

• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards of pharmacy practice.

• Educate patients on health management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.

• Stay updated with the latest developments in pharmacology and medical guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) / Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or equivalent.

• Valid license/registration as a Pharmacist (as per local regulatory body).

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug regulations.

• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in prescription handling.

• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and basic computer skills.
