The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, effective, and accurate dispensing of medications to patients. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and provides expert advice on the use, dosage, and possible side effects of prescriptions. The pharmacist also works closely with healthcare professionals and patients to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
Review and interpret prescriptions from physicians and other healthcare providers.
Dispense medications accurately and ensure proper labeling, dosage, and instructions.
Provide counseling to patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and storage.
Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate.
Manage inventory of drugs and supplies; ensure proper storage and handling.
Monitor and prevent drug interactions, contraindications, and medication errors.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to evaluate and implement treatment plans.
Comply with all legal, regulatory, and institutional policies related to pharmacy practice.
Participate in continuous education and stay updated on new medications and regulations.
Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff when needed.
