We are seeking a skilled Cabling Technician with strong knowledge of cable types, installation methods, and safety practices. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in pulling and routing wires, connecting jacks and panels, testing for connectivity, and following project maps, along with excellent command of using standard tools. The role is crucial to ensure reliable network connections, tidy workspaces, and completing jobs on schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Install, pull, and route various low-voltage cables (CAT5e, CAT6/A, Fiber Optic, Coaxial) in
commercial, data center, and office environments.
• Accurately terminate copper cabling at wall plates, patch panels, and jacks following TIA/EIA
standards (T-568A/B).
• Perform termination, splicing (fusion/mechanical), and testing of fibre optic cables.
• Conduct rigorous testing and certification of installed structured cabling using industry-standard
equipment (e.g , Fluke testers).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot cable issues, including shorts, open circuits, and faulty terminations.
• Maintain accurate cable mapping, labelling, as-built drawings, and test result documentation.
• Ensure all installations comply with NEC, TIA/EIA, and local building codes.
• Experience in mounting and deploying various distribution components and equipment (IDF/MDF).
• Decent verbal communication skills.
