Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Resident Engineer to provide on-site support for IT hardware and data center operations. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring of hardware infrastructure while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the client’s location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as an on-site technical expert for data center and IT hardware operations.

• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and other IT hardware.

• Monitor system performance, data center infrastructure, and respond to issues proactively.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network-related problems.

• Provide support for operating system and application installations (if required).

• Ensure uptime and availability of IT infrastructure by implementing preventive measures.

• Maintain detailed documentation of hardware assets, incidents, and maintenance activities.

• Collaborate with vendor teams for hardware replacements, upgrades, and escalations.

• Follow data center best practices for cabling, power management, and environmental controls.

• Provide regular reports and updates to management on service delivery and performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Resident Engineer, Data Center Engineer, or IT Hardware Specialist.

• Strong knowledge of servers, storage systems, network devices, and IT hardware troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with data center standards, cabling, and environmental monitoring.

• Hands-on experience with hardware brands such as Dell, HP, Cisco, Lenovo, etc.

• Knowledge of OS (Windows/Linux) and virtualization platforms is a plus.

• Good understanding of network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP).

• Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
