Location: Dhiantra Technology Solutions Private Limited , Kolkata & Suburbs, West Bengal, India (Field support role; travel to client sites across Kolkata Metropolitan Area)

Salary Range : ₹12,000 – ₹16,000 per month (depending on skills, experience & location)
Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Customer Support Engineer (Field Support) to serve our clients in Kolkata and surrounding suburbs. You will visit customer sites, diagnose and resolve hardware/software/network issues, perform maintenance, and ensure that our clients’ IT infrastructure functions smoothly with minimal downtime.

Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
Travel locally within Kolkata & suburbs to client sites to install, configure, repair, and maintain IT infrastructure components including desktops, laptops, printers, switches, routers, UPS, etc.
Quickly troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues onsite.
Carry out preventive maintenance and regular system health checks.
Respond to client support tickets or service requests; meet agreed SLAs.
Escalate complex issues to senior technical staff or vendor support when needed.
Maintain detailed documentation of incidents, resolution steps, asset changes, and maintenance performed.
Assist in LAN/WAN set-ups, cabling, IP configuration.
Manage software installations, OS updates/patches, firmware upgrades.
Maintain inventory of spare parts and report need for replenishment.
Educate end-users on best practices in hardware/software usage, backups, safety.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, client site policies, and safety norms during all field operations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or related field; or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience: Minimum ~1 year of field or on-site IT support preferred; freshers with strong technical understanding and willingness to learn may be considered.
Technical Skills:
Good understanding of PC / laptop hardware, peripherals (printers, scanners etc.).
Strong knowledge of Windows OS (installation, troubleshooting) and familiarity with other operating systems (Linux is a plus).
Basic networking knowledge: LAN, switches, routers, IP addressing, configuring network devices.
Experience with handling UPS / power backup systems is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Good communication skills in English and Bengali; ability to interact with clients politely and effectively.
Customer-centric attitude, patience, and willingness to work in client-facing environments.
Self-motivated, able to work independently; strong problem-solving ability.
Punctuality, adaptability; readiness to travel within Kolkata / suburbs.
Desirable Qualifications / Bonus Skills
Certifications like CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified / Network+ etc.
Prior experience in ticketing system / asset management tools.
Knowledge of server/NAS / small-scale virtualization.
Valid driving license (two-wheeler or four-wheeler) for commuting to client sites.
Working Hours & Travel
Normal working hours, though occasional extended hours or weekend support might be required depending on client schedules or emergencies.
Frequent travel within Kolkata & its suburbs (client sites). Company will reimburse travel / conveyance as per policy.
Reporting & Relationships
Reports to: Field Support Team Lead / Service Delivery Manager – IT Infrastructure.
Interaction with: Internal technical team, vendors, client IT staff and end users.
Benefits
