Key responsibilities

• Resident Supervision and Welfare:

  • Ensure the safety and security of all residents. 

  • Maintain discipline and enforce hostel rules and regulations. 

  • Provide counseling and support for residents' personal and academic issues. 

  • Keep records of resident attendance and maintain communication with parents/guardians as needed. 

  • Handle and report serious disciplinary issues like ragging to the appropriate authorities. 

• Hostel and Mess Management:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the hostel, including cleanliness and maintenance. 

  • Oversee mess activities, including menu planning, food quality, and hygiene. 

  • Manage hostel staff, including hiring, training, and performance reviews. 

  • Coordinate with external vendors for supplies and services. 

• Administration and Security:

  • Manage hostel-related files, registers, and documentation. 

  • Ensure all security protocols are followed, including monitoring entry and exit points. 

  • Handle and resolve conflicts and grievances among residents. 

  • Be available to respond to emergencies and crises effectively. 

• Skills:

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. 

  • Excellent organizational and administrative abilities. 

  • Conflict resolution and crisis management skills. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions. 

  • Sound knowledge of health, safety, and security regulations.
