3D Animator Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and creative 3D Animator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of motion, weight, and timing, with the ability to bring characters, creatures, and objects to life through high-quality animation. You will work closely with modelers, riggers, and other animators to produce compelling visuals for [games, films, commercials, or digital media projects].

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality 3D animations for characters, environments, and objects.

• Collaborate with the design, modelling, rigging, and VFX teams to ensure animations meet project standards.

• Interpret storyboard and creative direction to produce smooth and believable animations.

• Optimize animations for performance without sacrificing quality.

• Implement feedback from leads and directors effectively and efficiently.

• Maintain consistent style and quality across all animations.

• Meet project deadlines and milestones within production schedules.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a 3D Animator, with a strong portfolio/demo reel showcasing character and/or object animation.

• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max.

• Solid understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, anticipation, squash & stretch, etc.).

• Experience working with rigged characters and environments.

• Knowledge of motion capture data cleanup (a plus).

• Understanding of modelling, rigging, and texturing pipelines (bonus but not required).

• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Animation, Fine Arts, Game Design, or related field.

• Experience in Unity or Unreal Engine (for game/interactive projects).

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or MEL (bonus).

• Experience in VR/AR animation (if applicable).
