The General Sales Manager (GSM) is responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales planning and
effective team leadership. The GSM develops and implements sales strategies to attract new business, maintain
existing client relationships, and ensure overall guest satisfaction. The role focuses on achieving financial goals and
brand positioning for the property.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning & Execution:
• Develop and execute annual sales strategies and action plans aligned with the business objectives.
• Identify and explore new business opportunities in corporate, travel, MICE, and F&B segments.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to adjust sales tactics accordingly.
Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and group targets.
• Conduct regular sales meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
• Set clear KPIs and goals for the sales team; monitor progress and provide guidance.
Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, and corporate accounts.
• Conduct regular client meetings, site inspections, and promotional events to increase brand awareness and
bookings.
• Ensure excellent customer service and follow-up to retain loyal customers.
Revenue Management & Reporting:
• Collaborate with the revenue and marketing teams to optimize pricing, promotions, and inventory.
• Track and report on sales performance, revenue figures, and ROI of campaigns.
• Prepare detailed sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the F&B, Events, and Front Office teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Coordinate with marketing for promotional activities, digital campaigns, and public relations.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a sales leadership role in the hospitality industry.
• Strong network and proven track record in corporate, travel trade, or banquet sales.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities.
• Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
