Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our Steel Melting Shop (SMS) team at our integrated Steel Plant in Raipur. The candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment and systems within the SMS unit, ensuring minimal downtime and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment in SMS (furnaces, EOT cranes, transformers, LT/HT panels, motors, etc.).

• Perform routine inspections and monitor electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.

• Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical components related to arc furnaces (EAF/IF), ladle refining furnaces (LRF), and continuous casting machines (CCM).

• Troubleshoot control panels, VFDs, PLC-based systems, and instrumentation used in melting shop operations.

• Maintain proper documentation for maintenance records and safety checks.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.

• Coordinate with mechanical and production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance.

• Participate in shutdown and startup activities of the SMS section.

• Maintain inventory of electrical spares and report requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

• Experience: 3–7 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a steel melting shop or heavy industrial setup

• Strong understanding of HT/LT systems, industrial wiring, and SMS operations

• Hands-on experience in handling electric arc furnaces, induction furnaces, and related equipment

• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and automation systems is an added advantage

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Willingness to work in shifts and in a high-temperature environment
