Key Responsibilities:

Preventive Maintenance:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for all electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, and control panels.

• Conduct regular inspections, testing, and cleaning of electrical equipment to identify and address potential issues before they lead to failures.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tightening connections, lubricating components, and replacing worn parts.

• Monitor equipment performance and identify trends to optimize maintenance schedules and improve reliability.

• Ensure proper grounding and bonding of all electrical systems.

Troubleshooting and Repair:

• Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and malfunctions, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, control systems, and equipment using appropriate tools and test equipment.

• Replace faulty components, rewire circuits, and perform necessary repairs to restore equipment to operational status.

• Analyze root causes of electrical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Record Keeping and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and tests.

• Generate daily reports on equipment status, maintenance performed, and any issues encountered.

• Track equipment performance data, including voltage, current, power factor, and temperature.

• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels.

• Document all modifications and upgrades to electrical systems.

Power Factor Management:

• Monitor and maintain power factor within acceptable limits to minimize energy losses and improve system efficiency.

• Implement power factor correction measures, such as installing capacitors, as needed.

• Analyze power consumption data and identify opportunities for energy savings.

Motor Maintenance:

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on electric motors ranging from 2 kW to 100 kW.

• Inspect motor windings, bearings, and other components for wear and damage.

• Test motor insulation resistance and perform other diagnostic tests.

• Align motors and couplings to ensure proper operation.

• Understand and troubleshoot motor control circuits and variable frequency drives (VFDs).

High and Low Voltage Systems:

• Possess a thorough understanding of 11 kV HT lines and LT panels.

• Perform switching operations and maintenance on HT and LT equipment in accordance with safety procedures.

• Identify and address potential hazards in high-voltage environments.

• Knowledge of LT panel distribution, and single line diagram reading.

PLC Panels:

• Demonstrate working knowledge of PLC panels, including understanding ladder logic and basic programming.

• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and systems.

• Interpret PLC diagrams and schematics.

• Ability to read and understand I/O diagrams.

Safety:

• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures.

• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.

• Promote a safe working environment for all personnel.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
