Roles and responsibilities
Customer query management: Handle inquiries from existing and potential customers regarding international shipping services via phone, email, and in-person visits.
Sales process coordination: Support the sales team in preparing presentations, quotes, and sales contracts for international courier and cross-border logistics solutions.
Client account maintenance: Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage retention, repeat business, and upselling opportunities. This may include regular follow-ups and addressing service issues.
Shipment tracking and coordination: Liaise with international courier partners, agents, and customs clearance teams to ensure the smooth transit and delivery of shipments.
Document handling: Assist clients with the documentation required for international shipments, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete for customs clearance.
Lead generation and prospecting: Assist in identifying potential clients and managing inbound sales inquiries. For inside sales roles, this can involve proactive outreach through calls and emails.
Reporting and data management: Update and maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales pipelines in the company's CRM system.
Key qualifications and skills
Experience: Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, or business development, preferably within the logistics, courier, or international shipping industry.
Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for client interactions and internal coordination.
Logistics knowledge: A good understanding of the international logistics market, global shipping processes, customs clearance, and associated trade dynamics is highly desirable.
Computer proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and web-based presentation tools is often required.
Customer focus: A strong customer-first approach with excellent problem-solving skills to resolve client issues effectively.
Organizational skills: Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and client requests efficiently.
Educational background: A bachelor's degree in business management or a related field is often preferred.
